Super Bowl LII – How The Teams Stack Up

The Super Bowl LII

Even if you are not an avid American Football fan, the Super Bowl is one game that no self-respecting sports enthusiast is going to miss. At the same time, it is also responsible for the most betting action on a single event anywhere in the world. Coming up on the 4th of February, the Super Bowl LII will kick off at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This year will mark the 52nd running of the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles taking on the New England Patriots in an all-out display of grace, ingenuity, action and drama.

No matter what your feelings of the teams may be, one thing is for certain; this is going to be one heck of a game. If, like most football fans, you are tired of the same teams dominating the trophy cabinets, then you should be rooting for the Eagles. The eagles had an incredible run this season, finishing off with an incredible record of 13-3.

The Eagles Vs. the Patriots

To put it into perspective, they were only 1 of 4 teams to achieve this feat. This was a massive improvement for the team compared to the previous two seasons in which they finished with 7-9 records. With 457 points in the bag, the tiebreaker procedures created the opportunity for the Eagles to take the number 1 seed in the playoffs. This is their second year under coach Doug Preston and the Eagles will want to avenge their defeat at the hands of Patriots back in 2004 when they lost the Super Bowl by just 3 points.

On the other side of the coin, we have the New England Patriots. There is no doubt that the Patriots have dominated the sport for the last few years and that Tom Brady is the possibly the best quarterback the sport has ever seen. New England finished the regular season with the same record as the Eagles at 13-3. This was the 16th time in 18 seasons the Patriots have managed to pull off this seemingly monumental achievement. In terms of offence, New England led the league with Brady finishing off the season with an astounding 4577 passing yards. According to the experts, and the betting sites, the Patriots are the clear favourites, but anything can happen on the day.
