Emma Raducanu Separates From US Open Coach

October 1, 2021 by

US Open champion Emma Raducanu has separated from her coach and the man who helped her win the event at Flushing Meadows.

Raducanu announced the split this week, saying that while Andrew Richardson had coached her for two years at youth level before linking up with her on a short-term contract ahead of the US Open, she now needed someone more experienced with the WTA Tour’s “bigger” events.

The Briton said that while she’d learnt a lot from Richardson, she would now be looking for a coach who has competed at the highest levels of the sport, and as such, understood the pressures and requirements for achieving success. This decision has sparked much discussion on various sports betting sites, with many fans speculating on Raducanu’s future performance under new coaching guidance.

According to the young star, she could never have dreamt of winning the US Open – let alone now being ranked 22nd on the tennis world rankings. And while she said she did not presently have anybody in particular in mind for replacing Richardson, she doesn’t anticipated making a final decision before the end of the current season.

Britain’s new No. 1 is back in training after some time off following her incredible run at Flushing Meadows. Her next big decision is now whether to compete in this year’s BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, which gets underway on Oct. 6. She said a decision would be reached by herself and her team over the next couple of days, while adding that she would be careful not to jump into too many big things too soon. Tennis betting enthusiasts are closely watching her upcoming decisions, anticipating how her performance might influence betting odds in future tournaments.

Raducanu on Friday played together with Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, at a homecoming event at the National Tennis Centre outside of London.
